It was my first ever credit card application with barclays and when I contacted them they indicated my SSN was issued 20 years after my DOB and that they would need additional documentation like a copy of passport or voter id card or green card etc. Pretty strange for a CC company to do such pseudo immigration check. I have not sent anything to them yet contemplating if I really want that card bad enough to send those docs to them or not. Any ideas out there?
Yeah, I'd be a little uncomfortable sending in passport information. A voter ID card seems kind of flimsy, on the other hand. I"d probably be ok sending that in. Did you send in a copy of a driver's license?
