Update on Sydney Travel passes

Hello again to all our visitors.
I thought I would post current information to this historic thread.
Firstly, a word of warning - Australia will seem expensive. The US$ exchange rate hit $1.1070 this morning.

Now - on to current info.
The passes have been "enhanced" since the earlier information was posted. Most tourists will be well served by "MyMulti1", which is now $41 for the week, and now INCLUDES the Manly ferry, and ALL normal bus services. Info starts here http://www.cityrail.info/tickets/which/mymulti . Note that travel passes do not include airport line stations access.

If you are travelling on 1 airport train journey (they are private stations) the ticket to the city will be around $16 per adult, of which $11.80 will be a single gate pass fee. Here is the starting page - http://www.cityrail.info/travelling_...sydney_airport

If you are travelling more than once to/from any station on the airport line, you can buy a weekly gate pass add on for $18 for unlimited travel to/from any airport line station, PROVIDED you also hold a weekly ticket/travel pass. The link starts here - http://www.airportlink.com.au/price.php
Note - the price for an adult is 2nd from the bottom .

Advice 1 - Most people on arrival, can ask for a MyMulti1 weekly($41) plus a Weekly Gate Pass add on ($18), and for $59 have unlimited travel to most of the normal travel spots.
Or, if you want a trip to the Blue Mountains as well (or Newcastle etc etc), ask for a MyMulti3 weekly ($57) plus a Weekly Gate Pass add on ($18), for a total of $75. And FYI MyMulti2 is $48 weekly.
The zones are here - http://www.cityrail.info/tickets/pdf...i_fare_map.pdf

Advice 2 - If you buy any weekly ticket and activate it after 3pm, it is valid the rest of that day, and the next 7 days.

Hope this updated information continues to help our Sydney visitors. Regards, JohnSydney2000.
