Which is interesting, because when I was talking to Qantas baggage services in BNE about my non-arrived baggage from DFW they said that "100 seats were cordoned off" (their phrase) to ensure it wasn't too heavy (I was Y- flying in a Y+ seat so never ventured to see how full it was right down the back to see if there were a ton of empty seats, but it was all full where I was). Sounds like Qantas may be fibbing to their staff as well setting things up to be annoying for customers.
