Ewr to lax may be the biggest nightmare of all time. 757 have terrible first class, no gogo, and there are only 3 flights a day. American does a horrible job at ewr. Jfk has 3 class to lax, the business class on 767 is better that 1st class 757 + jfk has flights every hour in case you experience challenges.
