CX schedule is showing aircraft type as EQV but my understanding is it is usually 77A as opposed to 34B nowadays.

Marco Polo seem clueless and don't have any info at this stage... I'd love to try the new business class if it is flying and try to book my flight accordingly...

I checked your CX254 for 8 Mar. Aircraft type shows up as a 773 (77A?) and 15D/G and row 27 is still there.
