APRIL 1-3 2011!
As everyone knows it's a longstanding tradition of Washington D.C to host the
Cherry Blossom Festival between March 26 and April 10 every year since 1912. Here's a little bit of history behind the Cherry Blossom Festival...In 1912 the Mayor of Tokyo, Japan donated 3,000 Cherry Trees from Japan to the city of Washington and on March 27th, 1912 the
First Lady Herron Taft and the wife of the
Japanese Ambassador Viscountess Chinda planted the first trees and the rest is history as we know it!
So on April 1-3, 2011 We will be hosting the WAS Cherry Blossom Festivus DO and have various events throughout the Weekend to accommodate all BoXers, BoXettes, FlyerTalkers, Family & Friends! There will be more information posted shortly.
If you are interested in coming out for the Weekend or possibly a day please indicate your interest!
