MVP 4-stay challenge problem - advice?

A brief history - I registered for the MVP challenge to start 09/13/10.
I stayed 10/4/10 , 11/22/10, 12/06/10 and 12/13/10 but unfortunately on the evening of 11/28 I was unable to get to the hotel (due to inclement weather) to fulfill my (pre-paid) reservation as the roads in the area were impassable.
My dilemma? - the 11/28 stay would have been my required 4th stay within the promotional 90-day period. On the other hand my next stay on 12/13 was (just) outside of the 90-day period.
Does anyone think Hilton may still grant me the Gold Status which I was hoping to get from the challenge?
What would my fellow FT'ers suggest as the best way of trying to get the gold status? ( looking online I changed to silver after the 4th stay ashowed up after 12/13/10)
