The ONLY reason I could envision for popping into the A/C is if JAL's lounge at T-5 doesn't have showers (I don't THINK it does, but can't recall for sure), and your parents want to grab a shower/freshen up between their BOS-ORD and transpac/ORD-NRT flights.
