Couple of suggestions from one who is in DRW every month:
1. Early arriver's/late stayers may wish to check out the Mindil Sunset Markets on Thursday/Sunday Nights from late afternoon.

2. The tiwi islands tour is something unique to Darwin and a good trip for those looking for culture based alternatives to fauna/flora tours

3. Darwin has fantastic fishing that is readily accessible for those that prefer a piscatorial adventure

4. Visitors with an aviation interest (beyond whats being served for lunch on the flight -
) should have a look at the Aviation Heritage Museum, for those interested in Darwins Military, Convict or Pearling History there are also good alternatives:

There is also the motor vehicle enthusiasts club in the original Qantas Hanger on the site of the original Darwin airport

In terms of eating there are plenty of options of good quality, the Jetty is a good start for a buffet style venue:

I hope this is of use, hopefully work will be the reason I can make it next year rather than being the reason I miss Ozfest, as was the case this year.
