Arrival was earlyish, so I figured there was a good chance
of getting downtown before rush hour. I took the bus to
Ozone Park (what a great name) and then the A train, like
the song says. Somehow I managed to blunder my way to Astor,
where I picked up the bottle I'd chosen instead of the
Jermann Pinot Grigio which I'd been unsuccessful finding.
Walked through NYU and Washington Square Park, which is
under heavy reconstruction, to the NYC pre-do Wine Do -
North Square, 103 Waverly Pl.
I actually got there at 5 and,
not wanting to further ruin my palate and pocketbook at the
bar, was directed to the lobby of the Washington Square Hotel,
where I was allowed to poach signal while I waited.

avocado, ginger cured vegetables, lemon-lime vinaigrette

LOBSTER and CRAB CAKES
seaweed and vegetable salad, thai curry coconut sauce

BABY SPINACH and WILD MUSHROOM SALAD
roasted grape tomatoes, triple cream sheep cheese, garlic

grilled zucchini, chickpea fritter, red pepper cream sauce

HERB CRUSTED RACK OF LAMB
grilled asparagus, potato and leek galette, and red wine
rosemary jus

SEA SCALLOPS
sauteed escarole, butternut squash, and orange coconut sauce

BARBECUE BRAISED SHORT RIBS
collard greens sauteed with smoked bacon, sour cream and
horseradish mashed potatoes, chipotle barbecue sauce

BROWNIE SUNDAE
bitter chocolate ice cream, brownies
fior di latte ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream &
caramelized bananas

KEY LIME PIE
creme chantilly, raspberry chambord coulis

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE
bitter chocolate ice cream, chocolate and caramel sauces,
chopped heath bar
