(I would hope the answer to this is yes so TSA management can monitor fact patterns in the screening process that lead to STSO calls to LEO.)
Yes.
2. Can BDOs essentially force STSOs to call LEO? I mean, is the decision to call LEO something that always rests with the discretion of the STSO and not the discretion of the BDO? I'm getting the impression that BDOs call the shots here. Who's in charge?
No, the BDO cannot initiate a LEO call on the checkpoint. The checkpoint STSO or LTSO if in charge, are the only person who can.
3. Does the TSA have its own video recording inside the screening area to shed light on (a) college kid's behavior and (b) timing and manner of BDO's call for extra security for college kid?
Some airports do, some don’t. Each airport is different.

Some airports do, some don’t. Each airport is different.
5. Does LEO have video/audio recordings (separate from the TSA cameras/microphones) outside the screening area to shed light on college kid's behavior prior to presentation of ID to TDC (when the BDO observation may have begun)?
Some airports do, some don’t. Each airport is different.
