The OP is a Qantas Pub member - I seem to remember reading somewhere on the BA board that BA equates this as OW Ruby (which, I know, BA doesn't have, but the rest of oneworld does).

Since OWR *is* actually a OW elite level (albeit without much in the way of benefits) would this be enough for the system to allow pre-allocation via MMB?
