I decided to call and ask about this. The CS agent told me that according to what she can see, (eligible) CX flights should earn 500 minimum miles. The agent had no explanation for why this was not clearly stated on the CX page on aa.com. (Iirc the applicable minimum is given for every other OW partner except JL.) She also said that she would send a note to the web guys to have it clarified. It will be interesting to see if and when that happens.
I received an email back from AA ACS stating, it looks like something is wrong at CX or AA with CX minimum milegae credit. She is putting in a trouble ticket. The minimum mileage for CX (assuming eligible fare) remains at 500 miles with the info AA has.
