I LONG suspected that this was coming. Several things pointed to it starting a couple of years ago:

1) promotional literature stopped mentioning double miles on AA-related purchases

2) posting of miles to AAdvantage account started separating out the 2x AA-related purchases (this was within the last year or so)


I figured that it would be only a matter of time.

Looks like I'll be charging all my AA-related purchases to SPG Amex from now on.
