I can see for miles

Based on a couple other threads it seems you can churn Chase credit cards if you wait until record of your previous card approval drops off "their records." Does anyone know how long one must wait, based on experience or information? I'd love to apply for the Chase Marriott Rewards and United Visa cards again.
