Video Clip Captures Passenger’s Violent, Drunken Outburst on Red Wings Flight

The inebriated traveler, who is shown to be bleeding and punching the seat in front of him in viral video footage, was eventually restrained by fellow passengers.

A drunk passenger caused chaos and distress onboard a recent Red Wings Airlines flight from Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport (DME) to Antalya International Airport (AYT) late last week. Footage of the incident, in which an unnamed male traveler is shown to be screaming and bloodied, has gone viral via YouTube and has been shared across various media outlets.

In the video clip, the man is seen to be howling, sobbing and violently punching the seat in front of him as passengers, including young children, look on. He appears to be bleeding from an unspecified injury and both his clothes and tray table are spotted with blood. The female passenger seated directly next to the traveler appears to be understandably uncomfortable with the man’s erratic behavior and unable to move.

Polish outlet RMF Maxx reports that the incident lasted nearly an hour and that the plane’s crew did initially unsuccessfully attempt to calm the passenger. It is not known exactly how the man sustained his injuries on the Turkey-bound flight last Friday. Likewise, no further explanation has been offered for the man’s disturbing behavior.

In the end, the plane’s passengers joined crew to help control the belligerent traveler. The video clip shows him, still screaming and covered in blood, being restrained at the wrists.

Red Wings Airlines, which is based at Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport (VKO) and offers a variety of scheduled and chartered services, has not offered any comment on the episode. However, it has been widely reported that the man was arrested upon arrival in Turkey.
