UA Flight Attendants Forge Post-Merger Contract

The Association of Flight Attendants (AFA-CWA) announced Friday that it voted 53 percent in favor of a labor contract with United Airlines that allows the carrier to put flight attendants from its two predecessor airlines on the same aircraft for the first time. Top pay rates for AFA-CWA’s members will soar as much as 31 percent. Veterans with a minimum of 13 years’ work experience will max out at $62 an hour.

Sara Nelson, the union’s international president said, “The contract provides immediate economic gains, sets a new industry standard and ensures flight attendants can achieve the benefits of a fully integrated airline.”
