Spirit Opens $32 Million Hangar at DTW

As part of what Spirit Airlines claims to be an effort to maintain the safety of its passengers and crew, the airline has opened a maintenance hangar at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) this month, priced at approximately $32 million. Kirk Thornburg, vice president of technical operations for Spirit, claims that creation of the hangar has created 80 new jobs, including engineers, technicians and tooling coordinators.
