Ryan Boyd

At approximately 6:30 a.m. local time Friday morning, smoke was seen coming from a United Airlines flight departing from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) shortly before takeoff when the aircraft’s brakes locked up, according to reports. I don’t understand the way this is written. Is the author’s insinuation that United is not investigating? Do they generally not investigate problems like this? The word “claims” in the last sentence makes me believe that the author thinks that there is something more!
