Ryanair: Hope You Don’t Want More Baggage Space on New Planes

checked bag fees are going up

Ryanair will begin receiving shipments of its new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in spring of 2019, and the new aircraft will be able to accommodate eight more people, but only “one or two more” additional bags aboard flights, according to the carrier.

Ryanair has had a contentious relationship with customers’ carry-on baggage practices in recent days, and chief financial officer Neil Sorahan complained previously about passengers bringing “the kitchen sink” aboard Ryanair flights. The carrier claims that the reduced capacity for customer baggage on the new 737 MAX aircraft will lead to cheaper prices for customers.

The reality is that Ryanair are going from strength to strength. Low prices will always keep passengers coming back, despite faithful vows to "never fly Ryanair again". Are BA, considered a "normal" national carrier any better? I think not. Air travel is changing - even flying economy class with a check in bag and a meal with drinks is now considered over priced because people compare prices with no frills cheap carriers. The national carriers have no chance when Ryanair offer £9.99 flights across Europe. Even if passengers are treated like hens in a battery farm.

Really, what do you expect from an airline that has a hostile attitude towards its customers and treats them like cattle and only cares about profit?
