PICS: Inside Airbus’ Tianjin Factory

Since Airbus introduced the A320 in 1988, the aircraft manufacturer has built an assembly line in China to meet the growing demands Asian airlines have of the model.

The plant, located in Tianjin, first opened in 2008 and was the manufacturer’s first factory outside of Europe. It is a joint project Airbus shares with the Tianjin Free Trade Zone and China Aviation Industry Corporation.

Photographs of the impressive plant were recently captured when Philip Hammond, British Foreign Secretary, toured the facility.
