PAX Files Lawsuit Over Alleged United Airlines Phone Harassment

Passenger William J. Dicks has filed a federal lawsuit against United Airlines for a 48-minute phone conversation with a male United reservation agent that allegedly became sexually abusive and inappropriate. Dicks claims that the United agent:

  • Asked Dicks what the two of them would do if the agent were there
  • Inquired about Dicks’ sex life with his girlfriend
  • Made lewd remarks about Dicks’ last name

The agent is not named in the suit – only United Airlines. Responding to the allegations, a spokesperson for United said: “United has zero tolerance for harassment of any kind and we are reviewing this suit.”

If any one of these alleged comments were made to me, I would immediately ask for a supervisor. Did Dicks finally hang up after 48 minutes, or had the two agreed to continue the conversation later over a cocktail?

These phone calls are supposedly recorded, so the case should be quickly resolved.
