Passengers Mutiny After Heart Attack Grounds Plane

A Volaris flight from Tijuana, Mexico to Guadalajara was grounded in Hermosillo on Thursday night after a passenger aboard the aircraft suffered a heart attack. After flight crew made the emergency landing, the pilot announced to passengers that the plane would be forced to return to Tijuana, prompting angry passengers to confront the crew as the doors were closing and the plane was ready for takeoff. “Everybody jumped up, some saying, ‘no, we’re gonna be returned to Tijuana. They’re gonna try and book us on flights tomorrow morning and get us to Guadalajara.’ And everyone’s saying, ‘No, it’s Friday, the flights are booked,’” said passenger Raul Flores. Passengers were eventually allowed to disembark in Hermosillo in order to take off from Guadalajara Friday morning.

I don't blame these passengers, airlines do what they want.

I think the article has got a little confused although to be fair so has the ABC news report. This article says they were on a flight from San diego to Tijuana and grounded in Hermosillo. If they were going to Tijuana why would the plan be going to return to Tijunana. In fact the flight was from Tijuana to Guadalajara, had to land in Hermosillo and was trying to return to Tijuana. The ABC report was wrong because it said "Passengers were eventually allowed to disembark in Hermosillo in order to take off from Guadalajara Friday morning." In fact they took off from Hermosillo to depart to Guadalajara Friday morning.
