Passenger Claims United Threatened Him to Avoid Lawsuit

Frankfurt, Germany - July 17, 2014: United Airlines aircraft logo at an aircraft in Frankfurt. United Airlines is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

71-year-old Ronald Tigner, who was shoved to the ground and injured by a United Airlines employee in 2015 and has since filed a lawsuit, claimed through his lawyer that the carrier attempted to intimidate him into abstaining from legal action by United.

“Mr. Tigner reached out to Nancy Tibbetts, senior claims representative and he was met with a threat. She told Mr. Tigner that if he filed a lawsuit, he would be banned from ever flying United Airlines again and would lose all of his frequent flyer miles,” said William Hoke, Tigner’s attorney.
