Man Attempts to Smuggle Turtle Disguised as Sandwich

A man traveling through China’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) was caught attempting to smuggle his “beloved” pet turtle through airport security by disguising his pet as a sandwich from Kentucky Fried Chicken. The man was passing his luggage through security when airport staff spotted some “odd protrusions” from a fast food wrapper as it passed through the X-ray. The passenger, identified only by the surname Li, was loath to be separated from his pet turtle, he told officials, and had hidden the turtle between two sesame seed buns and covered it in KFC paper. The secret turtle was eventually freed and Li agreed to leave it with a friend so that he would be allowed to board the flight.
