Korean Air Long-Haul to Implement New No-Show Fees

A new fee is coming to Korean Air passengers who don’t provide notice in advance that they no longer require a scheduled flight booking.

The carrier confirmed that the fee, called the “no-show” fee, will apply to tickets purchased by October 1 for flyers who either fail to cancel their reservation prior to flight departure or passengers who don’t board their flight after completing the check-in process.

Passengers who fail to arrive for flights to or from North America, Latin America, Oceania, and Europe on long-haul routes will be charged $120.

Fully agree with the above comment. If the airlines love to add their fees so should the passenger demand a "delay fee" which can easily disrupt many passengers

This must be for fully-refundable, or flexible tickets.

100% right James. And if there going to stick it to there full fare/best customers I really don't understand this move. Customer unfriendly and will make me think twice before booking them. I've been using them for my SE J trips that last few years but with the fact I don't get many miles for my discount J seat purchases I really might look else where.

Seriously though - don't they already get to keep the ticket price? Or is the article missing some important details (such as *fully refundable* tickets are charged the no-show fee). Why do they need an additional fee on top of the actual ticket cost?

And I'm going to institute a delayed flight fee for whenever they are late getting me to my destination.
