In Brief: New Seats Coming to KLM Business Class

KLM is adding a new type of seat to the World Business Class cabin of its forthcoming order of Boeing 787-9, the first of which is scheduled for delivery later this year. Each of the new business-class seats will feature lie-flat capabilities, direct aisle access and 16-inch in-flight entertainment screens.

The 1-2-1 seating configuration will passengers utilizing them will also be able to “communicate via Seat Chat with passengers who are not seated nearby,” according to reports.

“KLM has chosen to add specific improvements to this special aircraft, which make it unique among other 787s,” said KLM CEO Pieter Elbers.
