HMSHost Spreads Holiday Cheer With Games and Giveaways

HMSHost is launching a holiday campaign in December full of freebies, games and elf magic.

To help ease stress during the busy holiday travel season, restaurateur HMSHost is launching a multi-component campaign called the Holly Jolly Holiday Takeover. The event starts December 1 and will have a text-to-win campaign and special events hosted by elves at several U.S. airports.

The HMSHost Holiday Elves will be traveling across the country with a sleigh, handing out gifts to travelers based on a naughty-or-nice game. Participants will spin a wheel to see if they’ve been naughty (by trying some of Santa’s cookies or peeking at presents) or nice (by singing with carolers or switching seats on a flight so a family could sit together). Corresponding gifts will be handed out to every player. Some airports will also provide live entertainment, carolers, or comedians along with the elf events.

“All are encouraged to follow the holiday elves’ travel journey and share a photo of themselves during their holiday travels tagging @HMSHost with #HMSHostElf #Contest for a chance to win a $100 digital retailer gift card,” the company said in a release. “Photos will be picked based on creativity and relevance to the holiday travel season.”

In addition to the elves, HMSHost is partnering with Coca-Cola for a text-to-win giveaway. Participants will have to make a purchase at an HMSHost store and text the store ID with a snowflake emoji (for U.S. players) or snowman emoji (for Canadians) to 30364. Winners get a digital retailer gift card.

“Giving travelers a break from the hectic holidays with our elf events and instant win promotion is a great way to keep up spirits, and create an engaging, memorable experience,” HMSHost Vice President of Marketing Atousa Ghoreichi said in the release.

The traveling elves will be on the road December 1 through December 8, and the Holiday Emoji Instant Win game will run through December 31.
