Global Airline Group: Drop the Electronics Ban

On Tuesday, an airline group comprised of 265 international carriers urged world governments to avoid the ban on electronic devices larger than cell phones in airplane cabins put into place by the United States and United Kingdom this year. Flyers have expressed frustration with the ban, citing fear of theft from checked bags and the necessity for electronics on long flights.

“We call on governments to work with the industry to find a way to keep flying secure without separating passengers from their personal electronics,” said Alexandre de Juniac, CEO of the International Air Transport Association.
