German Airport Corruption Whistleblower Poisoned

The circumstances surrounding the death of a whistleblower in an ongoing corruption scandal involving Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) are under investigation by Berlin authorities. The whistleblower, an engineer who had been working on the embattled airport project, is reported to have drunk poisoned coffee back in 2015 before succumbing to complications since being on sick leave for three months. According to authorities, the unnamed engineer’s illness was initially blamed on circulation problems, but a medical report has confirmed a “deadly substance” as having played a role in his demise. No suspects have yet been identified by authorities.
