Gatwick Runway Shuts Due to Tire Blowout
On Monday, a runway at Gatwick Airport (LGW) was closed for half an hour to be checked for pieces of debris from an Air Canada flight’s tire blowout (during takeoff) and to allow the flight to land once the runway was cleared.
Journalist Paul Waldie tweeted about the incident:
Flat tire on our AC plane shut down much of Gatwick and caused quite the response from fire and rescue folks. pic.twitter.com/FhnWBm7FoM
