Crazy Winds Lead to Amsterdam Cancellations for Over 10,000 PAX

Due to enormous storms in northwestern Europe, over 10,000 flyers have missed flights aboard carriers such as KLM, British Airways, and Aer Lingus. Eurocontrol reports wind speeds of up to 68 miles per hour in the North Sea, with further brutal winds rported across Great Britain and northwestern Germany.

A British Airways spokesperson said: “We’re sorry that some of our customers’ travel plans have been affected by the strong winds across the UK and northern Europe, which has led to a reduction in the number of aircraft which can land each hour at Heathrow.”

The FlyerTalk headline for this article is wrong. The 10,000 figure is for northwestern Europe overall, not for Amsterdam specifically.
