Company Riffs on Air Canada With Leaf Logo

Air Cannabis, a marijuana distributor based in Vancouver, has branded itself with a logo appearing to parody the official logo of carrier Air Canada, complete with a thin red circle containing a cannabis leaf in the center in place of Air Canada’s maple leaf. Lawyers based in Halifax, Nova Scotia warn that the marijuana merchant’s logo could cause legal trouble due to its similarity to the airline’s emblem.

“I would be surprised if Air Canada did not seek to stop Air Cannabis,” said Rob Aske, a partner at Halifax-based law firm Stewart McKelvey.

It's an awful branding move for Air Cannabis. Not even Air Canada's customers genuinely like Air Canada.
