Aviation Industry Observes Lunar New Year

Airports and airlines are celebrating this year’s 15-day Lunar New Year and Chinese New Year with decorations, food offerings and themed events. Vancouver International Airport (YVR), San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), and various other airports around the globe are observing the event with various decorations and promotions. United Airlines and Cathay Pacific are offering several culinary items in conjunction with the holiday.

As Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese New Year varies between January 20 and February 20, aviation and tourism statistics can never be accurately compared year-to-year for the months of January and February alone. The two months have to be combined for comparison.
