Alexa and Siri Get a Hotel Room Together

Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Echo (powered by Alexa) are being given a dry run at Marriott’s Aloft hotel in Boston in an effort to test their aptitude in regulating lighting, room temperature and TV controls via voice commands.

“This is about what next-generation travelers might want and how they would use their own devices at home and how that would translate to their travel experience,” said Toni Stoeckl, Global Brand Leader of Lifestyle Brands at Marriott International.

Based on the results of this test, Marriott may extend these technologies to other properties.
