San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the 10th largest airport in the United States, and is a major hub of International travel. Many passengers pass through the halls of the San Francisco International Airport, and there are various lounges ready to accommodate the weary traveler. Below is a list of the Must Visit Airline Lounges at San Francisco International Airport (in no particular order):
- Virgin Atlantic was voted one of the "World's Ten Best Airport Lounges" by Forbes Magazine in 2009. Virgin Atlantic spent an astounding $3.2 million on their trendy Clubhouse airport lounge shortly after SFO officially opened their International Terminal. Upon first glance the floor to ceiling glass offers a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay, and sets the tone for the modern and vibrant ambiance of the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse features a digital art collection by local artists, and a Freedom menu serving delicious eats and beverages, where the key word is "Free". Once inside the Clubhouse guests are provided with a comfortable working space, complimentary wireless Internet, showers, and chic decor in a relaxing and inviting environment. Virgin America frequent flyers are invited to the Clubhouse for a fee, as well as first class Virgin America passengers.
- Alaska Airlines Board Room is located in Concourse B, between gate 22 and 24 of SFO. The Alaska Airlines Board Room is also called the US Airways Club Lounge. To enter the Board Room you must have a valid Alaska Airlines ticket. Passengers are privy to complimentary beverages, including alcoholic beverages (limited to 3 per passenger), complimentary telephone, television, Internet access, fax, and the Board Room offers additional conference rooms at an additional fee. To book a conference room within the Alaska Airlines Board Room, you must book in advance. There are no shower facilities, and the Board Room is a smoke free environment.
- Delta Airlines Crown Room is available to Delta Sky Club members, as well as first and business class passengers. You must present a valid ID along with valid membership card to gain access to the Crown Room. There are 2 Delta Airlines Crown Rooms, and two different Sky Team Lounges such as the Continental President's Lounge and the Alaska Airlines Board Room that can be accessed by members. The Crown Rooms provide complimentary refreshments, magazines, newspapers, telephone, television, and separate conference rooms. The Crown Room located on the Mezzanine level is open daily until 11pm, and offers a full service bar. Showers are not available, and smoking is not permitted.
- United First International Lounge is the perfect spot to pamper yourself before departure, or waiting for a connection. The International Lounge is located in Concourse G and is opened daily from 8:00am to 10:30pm. The United First International Lounge is one of the few lounges that provide shower facilities. Amenities in the First Lounge range from complimentary refreshments including alcohol and hors d'oeuvres to a T-Mobile Hot Spot with WiFi Internet and telephones for free local calls and data ports. This exclusive lounge is quiet and intimate, and offers private seating and work carrels with business center.
