AA Allocates $6 Million for 3-D Bag Scanners

American Airlines will be spending approximately $6 million on three-dimensional bag screeners for carry-on luggage at eight domestic airports. The scanners will need to be approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) before full deployment.

“We are always looking at ways to invest in technology that enhances global aviation security while improving the customer experience,” said American Airlines Senior Vice President of Customer Experience, Kerry Philipovitch.
