Eighty-six passengers were unable to leave the terminal of Inverness Airport (INV) after arriving from their 10:25 flight from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol  (AMS) for several hours on Monday. A Border Force employee arrived to resolve a staffing issue at passport control. No departing or arriving flights at INV were inconvenienced by the incident.

A spokesperson for the Home Office apologized for the situation and said, “Border Force sets high standards for its performance and we are conducting an investigation into what happened today.”
