20 Flyers Fall Ill on Spirit Airlines Flight

Twenty passengers reportedly got ill on a Spirit Airlines flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles yesterday. Food poisoning is not suspected as the cause of the collective illness, as Spirit does not offer meals aboard flights. It does, however, offer light snacks.

Spirit spokesperson Stephen Schuler confirmed to the Atlanta Journal Constitution that passengers aboard the flight complained of a sweet smell originating near the middle of the aircraft. None of the afflicted passengers were taken to the hospital after the flight landed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
