Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), located about 15 miles southwest of Los Angeles is one of the world's busiest airports. Offering international and domestic service to North America, Latin America, Asia, Oceania, The Middle East and Europe, LAX handles thousands of flights annually. With its modern and expansive layout, the Los Angeles Airport can appear overwhelming but is well organized and is fairly easy to navigate.
LAX is the busiest airport in California in terms of passenger traffic and flight operations and is the fifth busiest airport in the world. It is a major hub for both United Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Low cost carrier, Southwest Airlines also operates a significant amount of their traffic through LAX as does American Airlines.
